Laura and Alex’s wedding at Huerta del Conde unfolded through gardens, soft Andalusian light and the people they had chosen to bring together. Set on the southern slopes of Monte San Antón, just above Málaga, the venue gave the day a quiet sense of place: a courtyard for portraits, an outdoor ceremony beneath the trees and a long evening looking out towards the bay.

What I remember most is how naturally everything moved. There were considered details and a beautiful setting, but the photographs are really about the small gestures: Laura’s hand on Alex’s shoulder, the laughter as they left the ceremony and the two of them in the last light.

A CEREMONY AMONG THE GARDENS

The garden ceremony held the day at its centre. The floral structure, the movement of the fabric overhead and the olive trees made a calm frame, but it was their guests who brought the energy. I like to give a scene enough space to breathe, then move closer for the expressions and connections that make it personal.

At Huerta del Conde, the different spaces sit close together. That lets the story move from quiet portraits to a ceremony filled with people without breaking the rhythm of the day.

PORTRAITS WITH ROOM TO MOVE

Before and after the ceremony, Laura and Alex took a few unhurried minutes together. I guided them only where it helped, then left room for them to talk, walk and settle into the moment.

The courtyard walls and garden paths gave the portraits a clean, editorial structure. The feeling stayed relaxed. I wanted the photographs to hold both the architecture of Huerta del Conde and the way they looked at each other within it.

THE LAST LIGHT OVER MÁLAGA

As the afternoon moved into evening, the view across Málaga and the changing sky became part of the story. The final portraits were made simply: a little space, the wind in Laura’s dress and the two of them enjoying the last moments before dinner.

Those shifts in light are why a wedding at Huerta del Conde can feel so varied without leaving the venue. A single day can move from shaded gardens to open views and candlelight, while still feeling connected.

PLANNING A WEDDING AT HUERTA DEL CONDE

If you are planning your wedding at Huerta del Conde, allow time to use its variety rather than trying to fit too much into the schedule. A calm window for portraits, thoughtful timing around the garden ceremony and a few minutes at sunset can give your photographs a natural rhythm.

I photograph weddings at Huerta del Conde and throughout Málaga, Andalucía, Spain and Europe. My approach is documentary at heart, with an editorial perspective: present for the people and moments as they happen, with gentle direction when it helps.
